The Niagara River Lions have made history by winning back-to-back championships in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) for the year 2025. They achieved this remarkable feat after a grueling season, finishing first in the Eastern Conference with a record of 14-10. The River Lions’ victory over the Calgary Surge, with a final score of 79-73, was led by Khalil Ahmad, who was named Finals MVP. This championship win not only solidifies the River Lions’ status as the league’s top team but also cements their legacy as the only teams ever to achieve back-to-back titles in CEBL history.
