PAOLA GIROTTI
Paola Girotti, the founder of Sugarmoon, is a visionary who embarked on a journey to revolutionize the hair removal and beauty industry. In 2002, she established Sugarmoon with a mission to provide a fresh approach and natural solutions to her clients. Drawing from her personal experiences as a teenager with sensitive skin and excessive hair growth, Paola identified a niche in the market and was determined to offer natural alternatives.
At the core of Sugarmoon’s product focus lies their unwavering commitment to this vision. Their products are meticulously formulated in a pure and natural manner, harnessing the power of ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients and herbal extracts. Packed with vitamins and minerals, these products deeply hydrate, re-balance, and revitalize the skin. Whether it’s replenishing dry and dehydrated skin, restoring balance to combination skin, or reducing the appearance and recovery time of blemishes, Sugarmoon offers suitable solutions for all skin types. They also have specific formulations targeting aging, sun and hormonal spots, sensitive skin, oily skin, and teenage skin.
Over the course of almost two decades, Paola has witnessed a shift in societal attitudes, as people have become more confident in discussing topics once considered taboo, such as facial and body hair. One client at a time, Paola and her team at Sugarmoon help individuals feel beautiful and embrace their unique qualities. As an involved owner and operator, Paola cherishes the opportunity to personally connect with her clients and make a positive impact on their lives.
In 2020, amidst the pandemic, Paola took another leadership role by founding the Beauty United Council of Ontario (beautyunited.ca). Through this initiative, she advocated for fair treatment of the personal care industry in Ontario. Paola’s efforts were recognized as she appeared on 49 media outlets over two years, successfully lobbying for recognition and support to rebuild the industry in the face of challenges.
Notably, Sugarmoon proudly holds the distinction of being an Ontario Living Wage Company, being the first in the spa industry to achieve this status in Ontario. This accomplishment highlights Sugarmoon’s commitment to providing fair and sustainable employment opportunities.
