Thorold Business Support needed for Pickleball!

Please read the below from James Fraser of Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association.

To my fellow members of the Niagara Board of Trade,

As you may be aware, the Town of Thorold has decided to decommission the Whyte arena. I believe there is an exciting opportunity to repurpose this building to serve as a dedicated indoor pickleball facility, the first such facility in the Niagara region. The sport of pickleball is growing exponentially throughout Canada and the United States. A dedicated facility would bring tremendous benefits to Thorold and Niagara. Such a facility would attract pickleball players from near and far for tournaments, generating much needed income for Thorold’s hotels, restaurants and shops. Additionally local residents  would no longer need to drive to St. Catharines, Welland or Port Colborne to play.

As I am not a resident of Thorold, I am reaching out to seek advice on how best to contact city councillors and business owners to get them to support the proposal.

I have enclosed an overview which will give you a good sense of the proposal and its benefits. View HERE for the proposal.

Any suggestions or contacts anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I would also welcome letters of support that I show to council when I formally present my proposal this September.
